Pothole Progress

WHEELING, W.Va.—

It's a very “Good Friday” for drivers in Marshall, Ohio, Tyler and Wetzel counties as pothole repairs began.

Paul Hicks, with the West Virginia Division of Highways District 6, said the weather prevented pothole repair crews from getting right to the work.

“The asphalt plants weren’t open until April because of the cold weather,” said Hicks.

He said they are still not open in the Hancock and Brooke county area, but crews hope to begin work there soon.
“We will focus on the primary roads first because they have a high volume of traffic,” said Hicks.

Hicks say they want to make sure the majority of the public have the safest roads. He says the secondary roads will be done later.

The WVDOH is asking the public to be careful and safe while these repairs are made
