MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. –
Charges have been dropped against a Marshall County man accused of sending threatening letters to President Barack Obama.
Ryan Kirker, of McMechen, has been released from the West Virginia Northern Regional Jail, where he has been held since his arrest in May.
A forensic handwriting analysis by the Secret Service indicated Kirker did not write letters threatening to kill the president and his family.
The charges against him were dismissed without prejudice, meaning they could be refiled at a later date.
