HARRISON COUNTY, Ohio – A tow truck had to be called to assist a truck carrying an oversized load that was stuck trying to make a turn near at the junction of U.S. 250 and 646 backed up traffic in Harrison County on Wednesday morning.
Large trucks in Harrison County are a problem that has been addressed as recently as Monday. Sheriff Joe Myers is conducting traffic safety courses and teaming up with the Ohio State Highway Patrol to monitor and enforce traffic violations on roads, including U.S. 250.
“A lot of these bigger companies now that we do have in here seem to think that they can get away with it, and that's not the truth,” Myers said. “We're going to do whatever we have to do to make our residents safe and the traveling public safe."
Myers also says he has a meeting with the OSHP on Thursday to discuss further traffic concerns.
