JEFFERSON COUNTY, OH

The village of Adena was put on the unauditable list because of records kept from Jan. 1, 2011 to Dec. 31, 2012.

Jefferson County Commissioner Tom Graham said that even though the county can't do anything to help, the state will be more than willing.

Adena is the fourth group in the state to be on the list since the beginning of this year.

In a release sent out by Ohio Auditor of State Dave Yost, he said, "Poor records lead to poor service for taxpayers. Auditable records must be provided to complete the audit and ensure accountability to the citizens of Adena."

Adena will have 90 days to revise the financial records and provide correct data to avoid legal action.
