OHIO COUNTY, Ohio – An Oklahoma man is facing a slew of charges after an incident deputies say began when he swerved to miss a deer on National Road near Mt. Echo and crashed into a ditch.
Jeffrey White, 40, was arrested just after midnight Tuesday after police say he failed a field sobriety test at the crash site, denied a breathalyzer and then took off.
Deputies say they found marijuana in White's car; he repeatedly tried to fight officers; and he destroyed items inside the Ohio County Sheriff's Department.
White faces a number of charges, including DUI, possession, disorderly conduct, and assault on an officer.
He's in the Northern Regional Jail on a $10,600 bond.
