STEUBENVILLE, Ohio - Scott Gill, a man who was revived from an overdose, allegedly attacked a paramedic and EMT who saved him, then fled and was caught in Steubenville 2 hours later Wednesday, made an appearance in Steubenville Municipal Court on Thursday morning.
Gill entered no contest to obstructing official business. The judge found him guilty and sentenced him to 15 days in jail and one year of probation, and also ordered him to undergo substance abuse programs.
Gill was revived along the train trucks along the railroad tracks under the West Virginia side of the Market Street Bridge before he fought with paramedics, who had administered Narcon, a drug commonly given to patients who overdose, and fled.
Gill, who told the judge he just got out of a halfway house in July, also owes the court nearly $500 for previous cases. He had a warrant for failure to appear in connection to a past petty theft case.
Gill is still wanted in Brooke County for attacking the paramedics. This was only for the charge in Steubenville where he ran from police. Neither emergency responder suffered significant injury.
