JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio – Jefferson County Commissioners addressed fixing a bridge that a county dump truck fell through last month on Thursday at their weekly meeting.
County Engineer Jim Branagan said they were able to pull the truck out a week ago and contractors are bidding on the rest of the repairs.
“It’s a bridge we've had some problems with,” Branagan said. “It’s closed right now. We actually completed plans earlier and put out bids and today we opened bids. (We received four) bids and we will review them and order a contract next week.”
The plan is to do some repairs and repainting.
Branagan said he hopes that this will give it about 10 years of life, but they are looking to replace it in the future.
