Mountaineer Brewfest 'on tap' at Heritage Port

Updated: Wednesday, August 13 2014, 06:31 PM EDT

This weekend is the Ohio Valley’s opportunity to sample West Virginia’s finest brew at the Mountaineer Brewfest.

The event is Saturday from 4-10 p.m. at Wheeling’s Heritage Port.

It offers beer sampling, live entertainment, food vendors and a mobile brewing experience.

Participating breweries include: Big Timber Brewing (Elkins), Blackwater Brewing Co. (Davis), Charleston Brewing Co., Greenbrier Valley Brewing (Lewisburg), Lost River Brewing (Wardensville), Morgantown Brewing, Mountain State Brewing Co. (Thomas), and Wheeling Brewing Co. (formerly Basement Brewery).

Carenbauer Distributing is also bringing the Budweiser Brewmaster Tour to downtown Wheeling.

It’s a mobile brewing experience to provide consumers their own taste of the art and teach festival-goers the science that goes into making Budweiser.

Tickets are $25 at the door and you get a glass Mountaineer Brewfest mug, eight beer sampling tickets and plenty of entertainment.

All proceeds benefit Wheeling Health Right and WTOV-9 is a proud sponsor.
