It’s crimes like this police are hoping to curb with the city's new teen curfew, which officially goes into effect Friday night.
Here’s how it will be enforced.
“First offense, they get a warning,” Steubenville Police Chief Bill McCafferty said. “Second offense, they're actually arrested, their parents are notified, and they go through the juvenile process."
As for the details of the new curfew:
Children 15 and under will not be allowed out unsupervised between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Meanwhile, 16 and 17 year-olds won’t be allowed out unsupervised from 11 p.m. to 5 a-m.
