BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio -- Police responded to a call of three men fighting, armed with knives, at the intersection of Jefferson and 44th Streets in Bellaire early Thursday morning.
Officers say two people were arguing and one was holding a knife.
Bellaire Police Chief Mike Kovalyk said he drew his weapon and ordered both men to the ground. Additional Bellaire officers, along with assistance from Bridgeport police, quickly arrived at the scene and 28-year-old Ryel Swan was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault and domestic violence.
Witness accounts suggested Swan had torn up the residence and threatened to stab individuals. Officers were then shown a video of the incident.
Swan was transported to the Belmont County Jail under a $5,000 bond for the aggravated assault charge and no bond for domestic violence.
