JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio -- A Monday afternoon shootout in Jefferson County resulted in one man being hospitalized and another on the run on.

It happened around noon along County Road 2 in the Glen Robbins section of the county in front of a mobile home. Shots rang out and multiple neighbors called 911. Bullet holes could be seen through the windshield of the motor home.

According to Jefferson County Sheriff Fred Abdalla, investigators are still trying to figure out exactly what happened. There are a lot of unanswered questions, including who fired first, but neighbors said  the owner of the mobile home told them he was being robbed and that is why he shot.

Return shots were fired with the whole incident not lasting long and ending one person shot in the shoulder.

Regardless how this went down, neighbors aren't happy.

"We need this out of Glen Robbins," a neighbor said. "This is a family neighborhood. Everybody out here is related, lifelong residents. This isn't going to be tolerated."

The man who was shot was taken to East Ohio Regional in Martins Ferry.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police are still searching for the owner of that mobile home who allegedly fled after the gunfire.
