JEFFERSON COUNNTY – The Steubenville City Schools Community is mourning one of its own.

Principal of Wells Academy and Success for All Coach Margie Radakovich died of a heart attack Wednesday.

City schools operated on a two-hour delay Thursday morning, as teachers and administrators discussed her passing and made a plan for how councilors would be handling the situation.

Radakovich was a 37-year veteran teacher and administrator. During her career, she served as a reading and math teacher at Harding Middle School, Dean of Girls, Principal of McKinley, Roosevelt, East Garfield, and Wells Academy.

Radakovich most recently served as a Success For All Coach for the district and was instrumental in implementing the SFA program in the Steubenville City Schools.

During the years, Radakovich served more than 7,500 students. At a Steubenville City School Board Meeting Wednesday, the Board showed a National film featuring the Wells Academy Preschool and Radakovich’s love of children and the learning process.
