  Storm damage leaves house totaled

East Liverpool, OH

A tree fell onto the home of East Liverpool resident Frank Lewis on Sunday night.  The tree was pulled out from the roots by straight line winds and crashed through the walls of Lewis' house on Martin St.

Lewis said there were four people in home when the tree fell, but no one was injured.  Two bedrooms were destroyed when the tree fell.  The tree also hit the house next door. A few other trees also fell down on the same street that Lewis lives on.

Lewis said police responded about an hour after he called.  Electricians were at the home on Monday to inspect the situation.
Without renter's insurance, Lewis and his wife, two children, and pets are left without a place to live.

A severe thunderstorm watch was in effect until 8p.m. Sunday in the Ohio Valley.  Many areas were hit with heavy rain and lightning, but East Liverpool faced significant damage.
