Wind Advisory in effect until 10:00 PM

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory scheduled to be in effect until 10 pm for all but Tyler County in our area, with winds possibly gusting to as high as 50 miles per hour.

Trooper injured during overnight chase

WASHINGTON, PA-- A Pennsylvania State Trooper is recovering this morning after being injured chase overnight.

Officials say the trooper attempted to make a traffic stop along Franklin Farms Road in Washington County, when a pursuit begins.

The vehicle turned down Elwood Park Drive and attempted to pass another vehicle but struck the curb- losing control and traveled down an embankment, hitting a fence.
Trooper then approached the stopped vehicle on foot.

The driver trying to flee backed the car onto the trooper's right leg, pinning him under the vehicle.

Other responding troopers removed the driver placing him under arrest and freed the stuck trooper.

The trooper was transported to Washington Hospital for his injuries.

The driver is now facing several charges including fleeing and aggravated assault.
