JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio – After experiencing some hardships last winter, the Jefferson County 4th Street Health Center is growing and expanding.
In February, the health center experienced a water leak in the building that eventually led to a major flood, destroying patient charts and computers.
Now located in Suite 202 of the Ross Park Professional Building at Trinity Medical Center East, the health center is opening its acute care clinic on Wednesday. The clinic will be open to anyone in Jefferson County who is un-insured, and will be taking care of all minor emergencies that people go through on a regular basis.
Executive Director Ann Quillen said when the clinic opened, this was their original plan -- to always have an acute care walk in clinic where patients could come in and receive immediate care without an appointment.
"That's one thing great about being a free clinic is that we can evolve and become something that our community needs,” Quillen said. “So that's just a gift."
