Victim fights attacker wielding butcher knife

STUEBENVILLE, Ohio-- Police are investigating an incident that happened in the 700 block of Oakmont Street around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.


The victim was walking his dog when he was approached by a man asking for a light.  When the victim said he didn’t have one, the two got into a scuffle, and then victim was slashed a few times in the stomach and chest.


Police later recovered a large wood handled butcher knife with blood on it a few blocks from where the incident happened.


Police are looking for a black man about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 130 lbs. He was also said to be wearing jeans, an aqua colored T-shirt and a Chicago bears hat.
