Nacho Dip and White Pizza - Kelly Camarote

NACHO DIP - Kelly Camarote

This Nacho Dip receipe has always been a hit at any gathering in the Camarote house. I've included two ways to make this dip. I like preparing it with a crock pot, but you can use a cassarol dish. Either way, it's quick to prepare and tastes great. Enjoy!!

INGREDIENTS

*1 pound ground meat

*4 oz of philly cream cheese (more if you like)

*2 cups of shreaded cheddar cheese

*1 regular size jar of salsa (12 oz)

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Brown ground meat and drain

2. Add philly cheese till it coats the meat (makes it all look white)

3. Add cheddar cheese and salsa

4. Mix everything together and put in a crock pot to continue heating.

5. Serve hot with your favorite tortilla chips.

**EASY CLEAN-UP TIP: Use a slow cooker liner in the crock pot!! You'll be able to just throw away the liner after your party instead of scrubbing the crock pot.

**ANOTHER METHOD OF MIXING:

1. Mix ground meat and philly cheese as above

2. Add half of the cheddar and half of the salsa

3.Mix well

4. Put into a cassarol dish

5. Spread the rest of the cheese evenly over the top

6. Spread the rest of the salsa evenly over the cheese.

7. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

8. Serve hot with your favorite tortilla chips.

WHITE PIZZA - Kelly Camarote

I was able to travel to Italy while I was in college with the National Italian American Foundation. The entire trip was an amazing opportunity that I'll never forget. Before I left Italy, I tasted "Pizza Margherita" for the first time and fell in love with the dish. That pizza immediately reminded me of home and my Mom's White Pizza. Although they're not exactly the same, I choose to share the one I'm most comfortable making. Here's the Camarote receipe for White Pizza.

INGREDIENTS

*Your favorite pizza crust. (I use Pillsbury. just roll it out a little bigger.)

*Tomatoes (Any type of tomatoe will work. Pick your favorite! I like fresh garden tomatoes!)

*Olive oil

*Garlic salt

*Minced onions (in the jar with oil)

*Mozzerella cheese

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Roll out pizza dough on a baking sheet.

2. Spread olive oil and minced onions on the dough.

3. Sprinkle garlic salt over oil and onions mixture to taste.

4. Cover dough and mixture with thin slices of tomatoe.

5. Cover with mozzerella cheese.

6. Bake at 350 until done. That could be anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes depending on how you like it. I like the dough to be browned so I'll usually start checking the the bottom of the dough around 23 minutes.

**COOKING VARIATION: My dad likes adding bacon to this pizza for added flavor. Precook the bacon until it's crispy and crumble it on top of the pizza before baking.
