Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating Sunday a fatal ATV crash that happened in Harrison County on Township Road 65, or Beech Road in Green Township.

Glenn R. Martz, 46, of Massillon, traveled northbound riding a 2011 Polaris 500 ATV on Township Road 65 Saturday about 8:20 p.m. and drove off the right side of the roadway, troopers said. Martz, who was not wearing a helmet, overturned the ATV and was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries, troopers said.

A rear passenger with Martz, Ann. M. Dager, 42, of Massillon, was also not wearing a helmet and sustained non-life threatening injuries, authorities said. Crews transported Dager to the Harrison Community Hospital for treatment.

Troopers said they believe alcohol is a contributing factor in the crash.
