2 local towns honored by W.Va. DEP for cleanup efforts

Two communities in the Ohio Valley are being recognized by a state agency for their cleanup efforts.

The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection’s “Make It Shine” program honored New Cumberland in Hancock County and Beech Bottom in Brooke County.

Beech Bottom was named the grand prize winner and will receive $500 to use for more beautification projects.

Several other communities in West Virginia were also recognized by the DEP.
