STEUBENVILLE, Ohio —

Two men are behind bars in Jefferson County Saturday after shots were fired overnight in Steubenville.

Officers were called to Summit Avenue near Claire Avenue about 2 a.m. Police said they discovered a silver Chevy Impala speeding through the area, so they pulled over the driver at the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Ohio Street.

Officers arrested the driver, Corey Haynes Haynes, and found a .22-caliber pistol under the driver's seat.  Police said they believe bullets struck the rear passenger tire and passenger door.

Haynes is in the Jefferson County Jail on charges of weapons under disability and improper handling of a firearm. Authorities said Edwin Lewis was also arrested on charges of weapons under disability and falsification in connection with the incident.

Both are behind bars on $100,000 bond. It's unclear if anyone was injured.
