A Pennsylvania man is behind bars today in the Guernsey County jail after allegedly shooting his girlfriend's van 28 times with a shotgun and 30-30 rifle at a County Home Road residence early Tuesday morning.
41 year old Douglas Bishard of Erie, was charged with discharging a weapon while intoxicated and jailed early Tuesday. Additional charges against Bishard were being considered by Guernsey County sheriff's detectives.
Authorities say, No one was inside the van when it was shot
According to sheriff's office, deputies were summoned to the County Home Road residence at approximately 1:38 a.m. by the owner of the van, a 1993 Ford Aerostar , identified as Bishard's girlfriend, Maureen L. Desko, also of Erie.
The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff's office.
