Weirton, WV —

Police in Weirton arrested four men Thursday afternoon in connection with the assault and robbery of two other men.

All four men currently reside in Weirton. Laquan Jones, Harry Dennis Jr. and Terrick Grimm face two counts of robbery and one count of malicious assault.

Daniel Glenn, the fourth man involved, faces three charges, including obstructing an officer and destruction of property.

Police talked to NEWS9 about the incident.

"It was reported as a fight call and a subsequent investigation through our detective's department indicated that it was in fact a robbery and a malicious assault case," said Lt. Greg Moodie of the Weirton Police Department.

Police say it happened Monday afternoon on Purdy Lane, an alley that runs between Orchard and Elm streets. After allegedly beating the two men, Dennis, Jones, Grimm, and Wells ran off with a small amount of money and a pack of cigarettes.

Police wouldn't talk about the victims' injuries.

"At this point it's an ongoing investigation," said Moodie. "I don't want to go into any of the details but the injuries elevated the crime to a malicious assault."

Moodie said witnesses and the victims helped them track down the four men.

All four were transported to the Northern Regional Jail on Thursday afternoon and will be arraigned Friday.
