Belmont Co. fire under investigation; officials said house likely destroyed

By NEWS9

FLUSHING, Ohio —

The Ohio State Fire Marshal is investigating an unexplained fire in Flushing on Wednesday morning.

When firefighters arrived at the home on 353 E. High Street, they said they saw smoke coming out of the second-floor windows.

Crews put the fire out quickly, but officials said the damage was already done.

The Lafferty fire chief said that because of the age and type of house, it will probably be considered destroyed.

One person from inside the house was taken to Wheeling Hospital for chest pains. There were no other reported injuries.
