A Belmont County man charged with raping two young boys was sentenced to life in prison on Friday morning.

David Wayne Armstrong pleaded guilty to raping the boys, who were 10 years old at the time.

The boys told police that Armstrong took them fishing then raped them.

Judge John Solovan said Armstrong did not show remorse for his actions.

"Though your letter to the court expresses your sorrow for what you've done and your means to at some time … try to make the victims whole, I wonder how genuine your thoughts are," the judge said to Armstrong in court.

Armstrong will be up for parole in 10 years. Solovan said the parole board will weigh the severity of the crimes before ever releasing Armstrong back into society.
