BELMONT, Ohio —

A Belmont County woman said she stepped onto her porch to find an unlikely visitor: a bobcat.

However, neighbors said they have seen the wild cats frequently throughout the years, and even though they've never had any problems, they are still worried.

According to Joan Robards, the bobcat was close enough to her porch for her to take a photo without using a zoom lens. She said that while the bobcat seemed calm, it also didn't seem scared. That's what has neighbors nervous.

"It kind of worries me with these little dogs I got. It might eat one of them. I got another pug up there that runs around at night and it would be a mouthful for it. so that kind of worries you too. And then that little Jack Russell -- so you never know whatmight happen with them," Moore said.

According to the Ohio Division of Wildlife, multiple calls of bobcat sightings have come in from the area. They said that this year, they have had reports of more than 100 sightings in the state.

The bobcat is an endangered species in Ohio, and it is protected by state law.
