Body found in Weirton creek

WEIRTON, W.VA. —

A body was found early Sunday morning and removed from a creek in Weirton, according police Chief Bruce Marshall.

Dispatchers received a call about 9 a.m. about a body in a creek on Cove Road near the Gold's Club, Marshall said. Police processed the scene and found the body looked to be a man in his late 60s, police said. There was no indication of foul play, Marshall said.

Marshall said the body will be identified, and then officers will notify the family. No other information regarding the investigation can be released at this time, he said.
