Boil orders issued for water customers in Belmont, Hancock, Marshall counties

By NEWS9

Boil orders are in place for some areas of Belmont, Hancock and Marshall counties.

In Belmont County, a boil order is in place in St. Clairsville as a result of a water line break. Customers along Young Lane are under the order for 48 hours.

In Martins Ferry, customers along Vine Way remain under a 48-hour boil order, which started at 5 p.m. Thursday.

In Bridgeport, a water line break and valve replacement has caused customers to be without running water until repairs are made. Once service is restored, a 48-hour boil order will be in place for the following roads: Spring Street, Oak Street, Mann Street and the upper end of Old Cadiz Road.

In Hancock County, a 48-hour boil order has been extended for all Oakland Water System customers.

The boil order is due to a line break earlier this week at the water plant. Residents could experience discolored water during the boil order.

In Marshall County, customers in the Washington Lands area are under a 48-hour boil order after a water line break Friday morning led crews to shut off water. The boil order went into effect once service was restored.
