The so called booze bandit is getting the attention of authorities. Police say someone is walking into drug stores in Wellsburg and Follansbee and walking out with several bottles of alcohol without paying. Surveillance video taken from the scene shows the man loads up several bottles of whiskey into his basket and leaves. Sgt. Lester Skinner with the Wellsburg Police Department says the man may be using the bottles as commerce, "We think they trade them on the street for other items such as drugs." Police say the man is behind two robberies in Wellsburg and three in Follansbee, possibly stealing over a thousand dollars worth of alcohol. Anyone with information on the robberies is asked to call the police.
