CHESTER, W.Va. —

A 14-year-old boy is in critical condition after vehicle struck him in Chester on Sunday evening.

Hancock County Sheriff Mike White said the boy crossed Carolina Avenue near the Hancock County Savings Bank with traffic and that a truck pulling a trailer struck the teen. The truck was not a commercial vehicle.

The incident was not a hit-and-run. It was not known as of Monday afternoon if the driver was cited.
