News 9 has learned, Weirton Steel filed a document with Bankruptcy Court to let the company go ahead with the start of a 950 employee permanent layoff.
A hearing is set for next Tuesday in Bankruptcy Court, if the judge approves the plan layoffs of Weirton Steel managers will begin immediately.
Remember out of that 950 employees, the first wave will be management. The rest of the layoffs will be need to be agreed on by the union.
