Car collides with tanker truck on Route 2 in Brooke Co.; 1 airlifted to Pgh. hospital

FOLLANSBEE, W.Va. —

Part of State Route 2 in Brooke County was closed for some time after a car and tanker truck collided Wednesday afternoon. The crash happened around 2:10 p.m. at the south end of Follansbee, before the Wabash Bridge. A woman who was driving the car was trapped in her vehicle. She was airlifted by medical helicopter to University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. The condition of the truck driver was not released as of 4:40 p.m. That portion of Route 2 was reopened by 3:40 p.m. While the road was closed, crews redirected traffic through Hooverson Heights to Brooke High School and back to Route 2.
