By NEWS9 and Philip Stahl

MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va.—

The van carrying two elderly impaired people that went missing Saturday afternoon in Moundsville was returned to the owner's residence Saturday night.

Moundsville Police originallysaid Betty Stine, 81, and William Truex Jr., 76, were carjacked, but later discovered Truex drove the van away from their caretaker. Police said they aren't sure why Truex drove the car away with Stine.

The two impaired people were last seen at the Goodwill Store in Moundsville around 3 p.m. Around 8 p.m., Stine was found outside her home. Police later located Truex in another area about an hour after Stine was found.

Moundsville Police and West Virginia State Police were originally looking for a 1999 Chrysler Town and Country, maroon in color with WV Plates 7RX-124. It had Cleveland Brown stickers on the windows. That vehicle has since been returned.
