HANCOCK COUNTY, W.Va---

West Virginia Judge Ronald Wilson has issued a ruling following a hearing on whether three West Virginia teens can be compelled to testify in the Steubenville teen rape trial.

The judge has ruled that two teen witnesses will be compelled to testify, the third witness, who is the accuser, has volunteered to testify in the trial.

Tonight's ruling reverses a previous ruling.

The hearing itself was closed-door and it started at 8 a.m. inside the Hancock County Courthouse. Members of the media were not allowed in to the hearing which means any knowledge of what took place is limited.

All three witnesses were present along with their legal counsel, in addition to Walter Madison who is the defense attorney for one of the two defendants in the trail.

Madison is the one, with the help of a Cleveland-based civil attorney James Popson, who petitioned the West Virginia Supreme Court for a review.

Defense attorneys had previously told NEWS9 that the testimony of the teens in question would help their case.

The trial is set to start tomorrow morning in Jefferson County.
