Brooke Co. Could Lose Delegate Seat

BROOKE COUNTY, W.Va. —

Two local delegates are preparing to plead their case to retain two seats for Brooke County under a new redistricting plan.

The current proposal would reduce the Second House District’s number of seats from two to one, said delegates Tim Ennis and Roy Givens.

Ennis said that since Brooke County has experienced the lowest population drop in the Northern Panhandle, that district should not be forced to give up a seat.

Ennis and Givens have scheduled a meeting on Monday with House Majority leader Brent Boggs during the upcoming special legislative session to plead their case.
