Marshall County, WV —

Officials in Marshall County have completed the vote canvass. A process that took more than 14 hours.

When it was all said and done Bob Miller was declared the winner in a controversial race for Marshall County commissioner, beating out incumbent Jake Padlow by 70 votes.

Two days in a row they went well into the night hand counting 12,000 votes. If the results hold, Miller will start his new position on Jan. 1.

Padlow wasn't there as the official results were released. On Tuesday he recused himself from the process before it began.

As for his next step, Padlow has until Friday to ask for a recount. The commissioners are expected to certify the results Tuesday.
