CADIZ, Ohio —
The 8th annual Caregiver Appreciation Luncheon was held in Harrison County on Tuesday.
The event at Sally Buffalo Park in Cadiz was put on by the Harrison County Caregiver Coalition.
Nine organizations sponsored the event, which aims to give back to those who take care of others.
Officials with the coalition they try to give something to caregivers that is just for them.
"We give them a couple hours away from caregiving. We focus solely on the caregiver. We give them massages; we give them a meal. It's totally free to them," said Laurel Dubeck of the Area Agency On Aging, Region 9.
Dubeck said door prizes, entertainment and other events were all an effort to say "thank you" to caregivers.
