Charges pending in connection with Carroll Co. crash

CARROLL COUNTY, Ohio —

Charges are pending in connection with a crash early Wednesday in Carroll County.

Four people were injured, two of whom were transported by medical helicopter to Akron General Hospital. The two-car crash on Cobbler Road in Carrollton happened around 6 a.m.

Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol in New Philadelphia said Juan Lugo lost control of his car and struck a car driven by Jacob Arquilla III.

Arquilla and his passenger, his father Jacob Arquilla Jr., remained listed in critical condition at Akron General as of Thursday morning.

Lugo's passenger, Gerardo Becerra, was thrown from the car and his injuries were not released.

Lugo was treated and released from a hospital.

Troopers said the crash remains under investigation.
