PARKERSBURG, WV —
A four game suspension stands for Wheeling Park head basketball coach Sam Andy after an appeal before the West Virginia Secondary Schools Activities Commission in Parkersburg Thursday.
Wheeling Park's athletic director turned Andy in to the WVSSAC for allegedly recruiting two foreign exchange students.
After an appeal by the coach and his attorneys Wednesday, the WVSSAC ruled the suspension should stand.
Andy told NEWS9 the accusations are unfounded, and he plans to appeal the four game suspension to the West Virginia state board of appeals.
Last week Andy announced he will retire at the end of this basketball season.
