Communities To Clean Up During Make It Shine Week

Communities across West Virginia will do some spring cleaning next week.

Hundreds of volunteers in 42 counties plan to remove litter from streams and public lands.

The annual statewide cleanup is part of the West Virginia Make It Shine program. The Department of Environmental Protection says nearly 100 cleanups are scheduled.

The cleanup kicks off tomorrow and runs through April 9.

More than 300 tons of litter and nearly five-thousand tires were removed during last year's event.
