Crews to close Main St. Sunday in Wheeling

By Philip Stahl

WHEELING, W.Va.—

Crews with Dore and Associates are expected to close Main Street Sunday morning starting around 7 a.m. so that they can demolish the façades of the former G.C. Murphy building and Dr. Manny Velez's former dental offices.

Crews should only have the road closed long enough to get the facades down and will then reopen it.

Once this work is complete, the demolition company will then tear down the old Graham Building and finish up by taking down the façade of G.C. Murphy's on Market Street, and lastly the Feet First Building next door to that.

A completion date for the demolition project has passed; a new date has not been set by the city.
