Armed robbery under investigation

BERGHOLZ, Ohio---

Police and Sheriff's deputies are investigating an armed robbery that happened Saturday at a bank in Bergholz.

Sgt. Matt Henderson said it happened at the Huntington Bank on Second Street in Bergholz just after 12 p.m.

The robber is described as being a white male around 6 feet tall.

He is said to be around 165 lbs. and was wearing all black. A black hat, shirt and jeans.

State BCI investigators, FBI agents and Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies are investigating the robbery.

Officials were at the scene for several hours after the robbery took place.

Officials said the robber was armed. He had a white T-shirt covering his face as well as black sunglasses.

He allegedly took a bag of money and ran down an alley. Officials said as he was running away, bills were flying through the air and landed all over the street.

A red dye pack from inside the bag apparently burst open and stained some areas of the street.

Officials said some bank employees were working inside when the robbery took place.

The robbery is still under investigation.
