New Details Released In Officer-Involved Shooting

By Kelly Camarote

A man faces charges in Harrison County after police responded to a call about an erratic driver, resulting in a shooting where the suspect was wounded.

Bryron Lee Lowery, 23, of Coshocton, has been charged with failure to comply and resisting arrest. The charges stem from an incident on September 26 when Cadiz police responded to a call about an erratic driver on state Route 22, between Hopedale and Cadiz.

Sgt. Ryan McCann, of the Cadiz Police Department, attempted to stop Lowery with the assistance Sgt. Eric Wilson, of the Harrison County Sheriff's Office, officials said. During the traffic stop, officials say, a struggle occurred involving the officers and Lowery.  During the struggle, Wilson's gun was discharged and Lowery was wounded, officials said.

Neither officers suffered major injuries, and Lowery was transported to a hospital where he is receiving treatment.

If convicted, Lowery faces a maximum of three years in prison.
