DEA Agents, Steubenville Police Arrest Four Of Five

Tuesday Sweep Includes Hilltop, Downtown

STEUBENVILLE, OH —

Neighbors on the Steubenville Hilltop have complained to the City leadership and to NEWS9 for years about drug activity. On Tuesday the Steubenville Police made another dent in the City's drug culture, but they were along for the ride, helping Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents out of Youngstown.

Five people were wanted in Federal indictments... three were taken early Tuesday morning. NEWS9 was there was Blake Thompson, John Wolfe and Tasha Robertson were processed at the Jefferson County Justice Center, then taken to the Federal Courthouse in Wheeling for video arraignments. Later in the day, 34-year-old Eulis Allen was arrested, and as of 6 PM Tuesday, the authorities were still seeking 29-year-old Jamie Crabtree.

The case is being handled by the US Attorney's office out of Columbus. After being arraigned by video by the Columbus magistrate, the suspects were taken to Columbus.

Arrests were made on State Street on the Hilltop, and on North 9th Street in Downtown, to name two areas police describe as "some of Steubenville's roughest neighborhoods". Federal authorities are not releasing any details about the investigation, what kind of drugs were involved or the scope of this case. The DEA tells NEWS9 on the phone all questions will be answered during a news conference, scheduled for this Thursday at 11 AM at the Steubenville City Building.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Jamie Crabtree is urged to call Steubenville Police at (740)282-5353.
