MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. —
The Bellaire Bridge is one step closer to being demolished.
Benwood City Council approved a version of an escrow agreement on Tuesday night.
The new version of the agreement takes the city’s name off the escrow account and leaves it solely in the hands of a third-party escrow agent.
City officials said they hope this is the final step toward obtaining a permit to start demolition work on the bridge.
