BROOKE CO., WV

A chase that started in Wintersville ended with a crash and an arrest in Brooke County.

Officials said they got a call for a disturbance at a home in the area of Starkey Boulevard and Winters Drive in Wintersville.

When police arrived the driver of the vehicle took off.  Police say he drove through several roads, struck a parked vehicle and then headed onto State Route 22 eastbound towards West Virginia.  Police say the chase reached speeds in excess of 90 miles per hour.

It ended when the man attempted to make a turn off the Harmon Creek exit and smashed into a guard rail.

The driver only suffered minor injuries and was arrested on an outstanding bench warrant from city court.
