Dogs abandoned outside of fast-food restaurant

By Kate Davison and  NEWS9

HARRISON COUNTY, Ohio —

Officials in Harrison County are trying to find out who abandoned three dogs in the parking lot of a McDonald's restaurant.

The dogs -- now named Frappe, Ronnie and Mickey -- are about 6 months old and are already big pups, probably from the same litter, said dog warden Tina DeWalt.

"We believe they're mixed with Great Dane, maybe Saint Bernard, Husky, it's hard to tell," DeWalt said.

The dogs were found about a week ago, and officials are trying to find out who did it and why.

"You can't drive up town and drop your dogs off in a parking lot," DeWalt said.

DeWalt said anyone with information is asked to contact officials, even if it's an anonymous tip.

"We want a little history about the dogs so we can place them," she said.

DeWalt said the pound is full and is always looking for people to rescue animals.

"Especially for these ones. They're very large. They're hard to contain in the pen that we have and they just need room to run," she said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the pound or the NEWS9 Lauttamus Security Crime Busters Tipline at 800-862-BUST.
