Driving tips to conserve gas, save money

By NEWS9

Gas prices get higher and higher!  There is no better time to conserve energy to save you money!  Here’s how:.

Aggressive driving wastes gas. It can lower your gas mileage by 33 percent on the highway.

Using cruise control on the highway helps you maintain a constant speed.

Keep the speed limit!  You can assume that each 5 mph you drive over 60 mph is like paying an additional $0.30 per gallon for gas.

Remove the junk in the trunk!  An extra 100 pounds in your vehicle could reduce your MPG by up to 2 percent.

Turn Down the Air. Operating the air conditioner on "Max" can reduce mpg by 5 – 25% compared to not using it.
