Harrison County, OH —

More than a half a year's worth of work landed a number of people behind bars on drug trafficking and possession charges and it only took three hours.

Nineteen felony indictments and nine arrests, a good day for the Harrison County Sheriff's Office and a day that took more than 6 months to happen.

Before the roundup started Sheriff Ron Myers talked to me about the investigation.

"This operation has led to indictments being issued for individuals who were selling controlled substances such as cocaine," said Myers.

The roundup started around 6 p.m. and after some prep work everyone involved huddled up to discuss their responsibilities and break up into teams of five.

Once it was all over it was time to hit the road and News 9 got to follow along. From quiet residential areas to busy downtown neighborhoods, authorities looked all across the county. "They're all in the county, the majority of the arrests are here in Cadiz, there's only a few in the outlying areas we're going after."

Traveling in tandem, deputies would coordinate, pick an address on their list, and then head up to the front door. Sometimes they would make an arrest and sometimes they would leave empty handed.

Sherriff Myers says all nine individuals will appear in court on Monday. They are all being held in the Harrison and Carroll County Jails.
