School system ready for winter weather

By Philip Stahl

OHIO COUNTY, W.Va. –

Ohio County school officials are ready for winter weather.

On Monday, Superintendent George Krelis reminded parents and guardians of the telephone networking system they have in place.

“Whether we are going to have school or be on a delay, we are able to make that decision by a phone call. We put that into our system and every number on our master list will get a ring notifying those households of the delay or cancellation,” said Krelis.

Officials also said that the school system has plenty of salt ready and all equipment has been checked to make sure it is running safely.

Krelis says typically they have to make a decision to delay or cancel school by 5 a.m. on any given day.
