WHEELING, W.Va. —

It will be double the detours starting Monday when construction begins on the westbound lanes of the Wheeling Tunnel.

Officials with the West Virginia Division of Highways said they will perform work on the westbound side from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. for two months.

The DOH is recommending drivers take Interstate 470, Wheeling Hill, or go through downtown to get around the construction.

Those who would normally use the eastbound lanes of the tunnel can take I-470 or go through the marked downtown detour.
